OUR STORY

The ArtSee program is designed for youths to focus on their personal development, emphasising values such as community care, tenacity, teamwork, and fostering a growth mindset.

Using music as a medium to hone critical thinking skills, and seeking deeper connections with peers. ArtSee with our partners, Djoko Mangkrengg Performing Arts Group (DMPA) & Muhammadiyah Welfare Home (MWH) aims to provide a transformative experience through music education, empowering the youths to develop discipline, responsibility, and confidence while fostering a sense of community and belonging.

The Artsee way

ArtSee is a pioneering music and community mentorship program dedicated to empowering young lives. Our initiative partners with MWH and DMPA to provide comprehensive support and guidance to mentees aged 8-20.

Through intensive Gamelan Ensemble training, mentees develop essential life skills such as discipline, patience, and teamwork. Our expert DMPA mentors offer invaluable guidance, helping mentees build self-confidence, make informed decisions, and reach their full potential.

By fostering a strong sense of community and promoting active learning, ArtSee cultivates well-rounded individuals equipped to become responsible and contributing members of society. Our program is designed to not only enrich the lives of our mentees but also empower our mentors to inspire positive change.

Join us in creating a brighter future for young people.

Meet the Team

  • Co-Founder

Hello, I'm Nabillah! I'm one of the co-founders for ArtSee. I’m a trained Western Classical pianist and now run a boutique music studio that focuses on 1-1 music lessons. ArtSee is my ikigai- it combines my passion for music and doing community work. I am the key coordinator for ArtSee and am responsible for partnerships, stakeholder management, as well as branding and marketing. I am thankful to grow a structured music and community programme that will have long lasting impact to underserved communities.

  • Co-founder

Hello, my name is Cindy and I'm one of the co-founders for ArtSee. My background is in education, and by day, I sell, teach and run programmes for children. I create the framework for the social and emotional intelligence programme that is woven into the music programme at ArtSee. I love that we’re able to make a positive impact on the lives of these kids, and that keeps me going.

  • Co-Founder

Hello, I'm Ahmad! I'm one of the co-founders for ArtSee. By day, I am in communications and engagement. Prior the start of ArtSee, I help with its conceptualization. By its end, I'll write its report. In between, I run here and there to see the boys and the mentors train and perform, and ensure ArtSee runs smooth offline and online. And in between, there's a sense of pride growing, seeing the boys and mentors grow in confidence (:
